Ingredients list for Soya Kheema Matar

  • 1 cup Soya granuals
  • 1 cup Green peas shelled
  • 1 1/2 cups Skimmed milk
  • 2 medium Onions finely chopped
  • 8 cloves Garlic finely chopped
  • 1 inch piece Ginger grated
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 4 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice

Method

  1. Soak the soya granules in milk for an hour. Heat a non-stick pan and add chopped onions. Roast till lightly browned. Add garlic and roast for a minute.
  2. Add grated ginger, green chillies, coriander powder, cumin powder and red chilli powder and two tablespoons of water. Stir and cook for two minutes.
  3. Add green peas and one-fourth cup of water and mix well. Cover and cook till peas are nearly done. Add soya granules along with the milk and cook till almost dry.
  4. Add chopped coriander leaves, salt, garam masala powder and lemon juice and mix well. Serve hot.
