Ingredients list for Orange Marmalade Cake
- 1/4 cup Orange Marmalade
- 2 cups Refined Flour
- a few drops Orange essence
- 1/4 teaspoon Candied orange peel chopped
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 2 cups Butter
- 2 cups Castor sugar (caster sugar)
- 5 Eggs
Method
- Preheat oven to 180°C. Sieve together refined flour and baking powder into a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugar till light fluffy. Gradually add eggs, two to three at a time, till the mixture is light.
- Add orange essence and mix well.
- Fold in the refined flour mixture. Add the candied orange peel and mix well.
- Grease a mould and pour the batter into it. Place the mould in the preheated oven and bake at for twenty to twenty-five minutes.
- Remove the cake from the oven and cool.
- Spread orange marmalade on top of the cake and serve.
