Ingredients list for Open Sandwich Veg

  • 8 slices Bread Slices
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 medium Onions finely chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic finely chopped
  • 15-20 Spinach leaves (palak) blanched and chopped
  • 1/4 cup White sauce
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon White pepper powder
  • 1 cup Cheese grated


  1. Grill the bread slices on one side, cut them into triangles and keep aside. Heat the butter in a pan, sauté onions and garlic and fry briefly.
  2. Add the spinach and sauté for a minute. Stir in white sauce and adjust seasoning. Spread the mixture on the plain side of bread slices.
  3. Top each with cheese and grill them in an oven or a griller till the cheese melts or turns golden brown. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
