Mushroom Ka Korma

Mushrooms flavoured with whole spices and cooked with milk and cashewnut paste. Serve this with naan or tandoori roti. This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel

Ingredients 

  • 20 mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 4 green cardamoms
  • 1 black cardamom
  • A pinch of caraway seed (shahi jeera) powder
  • 2 medium onions,chopped
  • 2 tablespoons cashewnut paste
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon green cardamom powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon yogurt
  • A pinch of turmeric powder

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non stick pan, add green cardamoms, black cardamoms, caraway seeds and onions and saute till lightly coloured.
  2. Quarter mushrooms and add to the pan and saute for 1-2 minutes. Add milk and let it cook for 10 minutes on medium heat.
  3. Add cashewnut paste and mix.
  4. Mix green cardamom powder, garam masala powder and white pepper powder with 2 tbsps water and add to the mushrooms. Add salt and yogurt and mix well.
  5. Simmer for 1-2 minutes.Serve hot.
