  • 1 1/4 cups Moong dal


  1. Take moong dal in a large bowl and wash it a few times with sufficient water. Soak it in water for 3-4 hours.
  2. Drain and coarsely grind ½ the moong dal and let the rest remain whole. Transfer both in another large bowl.
  3. Add cabbage, capsicum, green chillies,coriander leaves, dried mango powder, lemon juice, salt, red chilli powder and garam masala powder and mix well. Add fresh breadcrumbs and mix well.
  4. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  5. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into tikkis.
  6. Slide in the tikkis into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  7. Arrange them on a serving platter and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
