Ingredients list for Moong Dal Halwa Premix - SK Khazana
- 3 cups Split skinless green gram (moong dal)
- 1/2 cup Ghee
- 6 tablespoons Almonds chopped
- 6 tablespoons Cashew Nuts chopped
- 1/2 cup Milk powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
- 1 1/2 cup Powdered sugsar
- Saffron a large pinch off
- for garnish Pistachios slivered
Method
- Grind the moong dal to a coarse powder.
- Heat a non-stick pan, add the coarse powder and roast till fragrant and golden brown. Make a well in the center and add ghee and add almond and cashew nuts and roast for a few seconds. Mix well and take the pan off the heat.
- Transfer into a bowl and allow to cool completely. Add milk powder, green cardamom powder and powdered sugar. Add saffron and mix well.
- Transfer into an airtight jar and use up to 15 days.
- For making the moong dal, take ½ cup premix in a microwave safe bowl, add ¾ cup hot water, cover with a lid and microwave on high for 2 minutes, mix and microwave again for 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with pistachios and serve.
