Mooli Moong Besan

Ingredients 

  • 2-3 white radish, peeled and cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup split green gram skinless (dhuli moong dal), soaked for 1 hour
  • 3 teaspoons gram flour (besan)
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 5 dried red chillies
  • 1 teaspoon chopped ginger 
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
  • 1 cup radish leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder

Method

  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in one non stick pan, and the remaining oil in another non stick pan.
  2. Cut red chillies into small pieces and add to the second pan. Toss and add ginger and asafoetida. Mix and sauté for 2 minutes.
  3. Add radish pieces and mix, cook for a minute and add radish greens and salt. Mix well and add turmeric powder and mix well.
  4. Add moong dal to the first pan and cook on high heat for 3-4 minutes. Add coriander powder and mix well. Cook for 3-4 minutes. Add besan and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add salt and mix.
  5. Add the mixture in the first pan to the second pan and mix well. Cook till dry.
  6. Serve hot.
