Ingredients list for Khuzi Panyaram

  • For Masala
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 2 - 4 Curry Leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Split Black Gram
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Dry Red Chilli
  • 1/4 cup Grated Coconut
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Onion
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • For Panyaram :
  • 2 cups Dosa Batter
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • For the filling :
  • 1/2 cup Crab meat shredded
  • To Serve :
  • as required Coconut Chutney
  • a pinch Red Chilli Powder
  • For Garnish :
  • as required Fried Red Chilli
  • as required Fried Curry Leaves

Method

  1. To prepare masala in a pan heat oil; add curry leaves, chopped dry red chilli, grated coconut, chopped onion, salt, red chilli powder and mix well.
  2. In a bowl mix the dosa batter and the prepared masala together.
  3. Add oil to the paniyaram maker and add the prepared batter to it Immediately drop ½ teaspoon filling and slightly press .
  4. Cover it and let it cook for 5-7 minutes and then remove it once cooked from both the sides.
  5. In a jar serve the coconut chutney and place it on a plate. Arrange the paniyarams on the plate and sprinkle red chilli powder.
  6. Garnish with fried red chilli and fried curry leaves.
