Ingredients list for Kesar Pista Roll
- 250 grams khoya
- 125 grams Pistachios
- 125 grams Cashewnut powder
- 1 1/3 cups Powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon Milk powder
- a few strands Saffron (kesar)
- 1/4 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
- 2 sheet Silver warq
Method
- Blanch pistachios in two cups of hot water for five minutes. Drain, peel and chop finely. Cook mawa in a heavy bottomed pan for about ten minutes, let it cool.
- Add cashewnut powder, sugar and milk powder and knead to a smooth mixture. Divide the mixture into two equal parts. To one part add saffron. To the other, add chopped pistachios and cardamom powder.
- Take a small portion of the pista mixture and cover it with a little of the saffron mixture and roll to form a cylinder. Shape all the rolls in the same manner.
- Keep the rolls aside to dry. Decorate with silver varq and serve.
