By Sanjeev Kapoor 15 Nov 2016 in Recipes Veg New Update Main Ingredients Dates, Walnut kernels Cuisine Chinese, , , , Course Desserts Prep Time 0-5 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Date and Walnut Wontons 100 grams Dates seedless 1/2 cup Walnut kernels 16 Wonton wrappers 2 tablespoons brown sugar/jaggery 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon powder 2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida) for deep-frying Oil Method Boil water in a non-stick pan and add seedless dates. Cook till soft. Strain and chop the dates. Put dates, walnuts, brown sugar and cinnamon powder in another bowl and mix. Divide the mixture into sixteen equal portions. Put refined flour in a medium bowl, add two tablespoons water and mix well. Place a portion of date and walnut mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper, wet the edges with the refined flour mixture. Fold into half and twist the ends and stick. Heat sufficient oil in a wok, add stuffed wontons and deep-fry for a couple of minutes or until golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot with any ice cream of your choice.
