Ingredients list for Date and Mixed Fruit Crumble
- ½ cup Dates chopped
- 2 medium Green apples peeled and chopped
- 1 Pear peeled and chopped
- 1 medium Pineapple peeled and chopped into small pieces
- ¼ cup Walnuts chopped
- 1 tablespoon Castor sugar (caster sugar)
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon powder
- ½ cup Vanilla sponge cake crumbled
- Crumble -
- ½ cup Butter
- 1 cup Castor sugar (caster sugar)
- 1 cup Refined flour (maida)
Method
- Preheat oven at 180ºC.
- To make crumble, mix butter and castor sugar with an electric beater in a bowl. Add refined flour and mix with hands till it reaches a breadcrumb consistency.
- Combine apples, pear, pineapple, walnuts, dates, castor sugar, cinnamon powder and crumbled cake in another bowl and mix well.
- Place fruit mixture into a glass baking dish and spread evenly. Top with the crumble and spread evenly. Put dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve warm.
