Ingredients list for Daarsaan

  • 16-20 Wonton wrappers
  • for deep-frying Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds (til)
  • 2 tablespoons Icing sugar

Method

  1. Make eight to ten long cuts on the wonton wrappers leaving the edges intact. Moisten the top and bottom edges; roll loosely as you would roll a toffee wrapper.
  2. Pinch the ends to secure. Heat plenty of oil in a wok and deep-fry the prepared wontons for a minute or until crisp and golden brown.
  3. Drain on absorbent paper and transfer to a shallow serving dish. Keep warm. Heat the butter in a pan with one tablespoon of water and the sugar.
  4. Cook until the sugar melts and turns light golden brown. Lower the heat and stir in the honey. Pour the hot sauce over the crisply fried wontons.
  5. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and icing sugar and serve warm.
