Ingredients list for Chocolate Phirni

  • 5 tablespoons Rice
  • 1 litre Skimmed milk
  • 3 tablespoons Cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons Milk powder
  • to taste Sugar substitute sucralose
  • 4-5 Pistachios blanched and sliced


  1. Soak rice for half an hour and grind to a coarse paste. Mix cocoa in a quarter cup of cold milk. Dissolve milk powder in another quarter cup of warm milk. Bring the rest of the milk to a boil.
  2. Add dissolved cocoa and milk powder to the boiling milk. Stir continuously. Add rice paste and cook till a little thick. Remove from heat and mix in sugar substitute.
  3. Pour into an earthenware pot. Sprinkle sliced pistachios and let the phirni cool. Serve chilled.
