Ingredients list for Choco Coconut Macaroons-Cook Smart
- 250 grams Fresh coconut scraped
- 2 Eggs
- a pinch Cream of tartar
- 100 grams Castor sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
- 1 tablespoon Cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons Almond powder
- 50 grams Chocolate chips
Method
- Preheat oven to 180º C.
- Break eggs, separate the yolks from the whites and put them into two separate bowls. Use the whites for this recipe. Beat the whites well with an electric beater. Add cream of tartar and continue to beat.
- Add sugar little by little and beat well.
- Add coconut and mix well. Add vanilla essence and cocoa powder and continue to mix. Add almond powder and chocolate chips and mix again lightly.
- Place a silicon sheet on a baking tray. Place spoonsful of mixture on the sheet keeping enough space between each.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Remove the tray from the oven, cool down the macaroons to room temperature, arrange on a serving plate and serve. Or store in an airtight container.
