Ingredients for Chickpea Pizza Recipe

  • Chickpea bread

  • Chickpea flour (besan) 2 cups

  • Salt to taste

  • Olive oil 1/4 cup + for drizzling

  • Toppings

  • Olive oil to brush

  • Medium tomatoes 2

  • Bocconcini cheese 200 grams

  • Pizza sauce as required

  • Fresh basil leaves to sprinkle

  • Black peppercorns crushed to sprinkle


Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180˚C.

Step 2

Take chickpea flour in a bowl, add salt, oil and 4 cups water and whisk well.

Step 3

For each portion, take a non-stick skillet and drizzle a little oil in it and spread evenly. Place the skillet in the preheated oven for 5-10 minutes to heat up.

Step 4

Take the skillet out of the oven, strain ½ the mixture in it and place it back in the oven to bake for 20-25 minutes.

Step 5

Meanwhile slice tomatoes and the Bocconcini cheese into roundels.

Step 6

Bring the skillet out of the oven, brush a little olive oil on the surface, apply some pizza sauce and spread it evenly.

Step 7

Place the tomato slices and Bocconcini cheese slices alternately till the entire surface is covered. Sprinkle a few basil leaves and crushed black peppercorns, keep the skillet back in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes.

Step 8

Take the skillet out of the oven, cut the pizza into wedges and serve hot.

Step 9

Make another pizza in the same way.
