Ingredients list for Bhindi Kadhi

  • 250 grams Ladyfingers (bhindi)
  • 1/2 cup Gram flour (besan)
  • 2 cups Yogurt


  1. Clean, wash and dry bhindi. Remove bottom and tip and then cut in to an inch pieces. Wash green chillies and slit them.
  2. Mix besan with curd thoroughly, add app. 4 cups water and bring to a boil while stirring continuously. Reduce the flame, add curry leaves, green chillies and turmeric powder. Mix well.
  3. Continue cooking until it reduces to a medium thick consistency. Add bhindi and cook till soft. Heat oil in a small pan, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, dry whole red chillies, and cook for a moment to let seeds crackle. Add this to kadhi, cover the pot for a minute and then mix well. Adjust salt. Serve hot.
