By Sanjeev Kapoor 25 Jul 2018 in Recipes Veg New Update Main Ingredients Refined flour (maida), Fresh yeast Cuisine Chinese Course Breads Prep Time 41-50 minutes Cook time 6-10 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Bao - SK Khazana 2 cups + for dusting Refined flour (maida) 2 teaspoons Fresh yeast 1 teaspoon Salt 1/4 teaspoon Baking powder 2 tablespoons Milk powder 1 tablespoon Castor sugar 3 tablespoons Melted butter Method Put yeast in a bowl. Add some warm water, mix and set aside to activate. Sift together flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl. Add milk powder and castor sugar and mix well. Add activated yeast and mix. Add sufficient water, mix and knead into a soft dough. Add melted butter and knead again. Cover with a damp muslin cloth and set aside to prove for 20-25 minutes. Knock back the dough. Spray some oil on the worktop. Place the dough on it and roll out into a thick disc. Cut out small roundels with a small cookie cutter. Spray some oil on them and fold each roundel into half keeping a piece of butter paper in between. Flatten a bit and set aside to prove for 5 minutes. Heat sufficient water in a large pan. Place the baos in a bamboo steamer, keep the steamer in the pan and steam for 3-5 minutes.
