Ingredients for Baby Falafel Burgers Recipe

  • Chickpeas (kabuli chana) soaked overnight and boiled 1½ cup

  • Baby burger buns 4

  • Oil for deep-frying

  • Onions 2 medium

  • Fresh parsley sprigs 5-7

  • Garlic cloves 5-6

  • Salt to taste

  • Refined flour (maida) 1 tablespoon

  • Hung yogurt 4 tablespoon

  • Iceberg lettuce leaves 4-5

  • Red sweet chilli sauce 4 tablespoon


Step 1

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.

Step 2

Put chickpeas in a mixer jar. Quarter onions add to the mixer along with parsley and garlic and grind till smooth. Transfer it into a bowl. Add salt and refined flour and mix well. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into falafels.

Step 3

Deep-fry the falafels in hot oil till crisp and golden on both the sides. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 4

Slit burger buns without cutting through, spread 1 tbsp hung yogurt in the slits of each bun. Roughly tear the lettuce leaves and place in the slit along with a falafel. Spread 1 tsp red chilli sauce over the falafel.

Step 5

Arrange the burgers on a serving plate and serve immediately.
