Ingredients list for Aloo Gobhi Ki Tahiri
- 1 1/2 cups Rice
- 1 medium Potatoes cubed
- 1/2 medium Cauliflower separated into florets
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1 inch sticks Cinnamon
- 1 Black cardamom
- 4-5 Cloves
- 1 medium Onion ,sliced
- 1/2 cup Green peas shelled
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- to taste Salt
Method
- Soak rice in three cups of water for fifteen to twenty minutes. Drain and keep aside. Heat oil in vessel, add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon, black cardamom, peppercorns and cloves.
- When they change colour add onion and sauté till light brown. Add potato, cauliflower and green peas and sauté on medium heat for two minutes. Add rice, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt along with three cups of hot water.
- Cover and cook on low heat for fifteen to twenty minutes or till rice is done. Serve hot.
