Ingredients list for Almond Tart - SK Khazana

  • 1 cup Almonds blanched and peeled
  • 500 grams Puff pastry
  • 1/4 cup Castor sugar
  • 1/4 cup Fresh cream
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • for dusting Refined flour
  • 1/4 cup + for dusting Icing sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • to serve Vanilla ice cream

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180º C.
  2. Put almonds in a blender jar and blend to a fine powder. Add castor sugar, fresh cream and egg yolk and blend again.
  3. Dust some flour on the worktop, place the puff pastry on it and cut it into 2 equal pieces. Roll 1 half into a square and set aside. Roll the other half too similarly. Place one pastry square over the other, place a large plate over them and cut into roundels.
  4. Line a baking tray with butter paper, dust icing sugar on it and place one puff pastry roundel on it. Leave some space on the edges and evenly spread the almond mixture in the centre.
  5. Brush milk on edges, place the second puff pastry roundel and press edges with help on fork.
  6. Make a dent in the centre and make a pattern with sharp knife point.
  7. Break egg into a bowl and lightly beat it. Brush egg over the pastry and dust some icing sugar on top. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Bring the tray out and place the tart on a serving platter. Dust some more icing sugar on top. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
