Ingredients list for Almond Shortbread Cookies
- ½ cup Almonds
- 1 cup Refined flour (maida)
- ½ teaspoon Almond essence
- 1 cup Unsalted butter
- ½ cup Castor sugar (caster sugar)
- ½ teaspoon Salt
Method
- Preheat oven to 180ºC. Line a baking tray with a parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter and castor sugar till light and fluffy.
- Add the almond essence and salt and beat. Add the flour and knead well.
- Add the ground almonds and mix till well incorporated into a dough.
- Divide the dough into twelve equal small portions and shape them into balls. Flatten them a little and place them one inch apart on the tray. Refrigerate for fifteen minutes.
