Ingredients list for Achari Aloo Ki Tahiri
- 2 tablespoons Mixed vegetable pickle
- 10-15 Baby Potatoes
- 3 medium Potatoes cubed
- 1 1/2 cup Rice,soaked
- 1 tablespoon Ghee
- 1 inch stick Cinnamon
- 5-6 Cloves
- 2 Bay leaves
- 7-8 Black peppercorns
- 5-6 Green cardamoms
- 1 Black cardamoms crushed
- 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 2 medium Onion sliced
- to taste Salt
Method
- Heat ghee in a deep non stick pan, add cinnamon, cloves, bay leaves, black peppercorns, green cardamoms, black cardamom, cumin seeds and saute till fragrant.
- Halve baby potatoes. Add onionsto the pan and saute till lightly coloured. Add baby potatoes and potato cubes and saute.
- Add mixed vegetable pickle and mix well. Add rice and mix well.
- Add 3 cups water and salt and mix well.When the water comes to a boil, reduce heat, cover and cook till both potatoes and rice are cooked.
