Ingredients for Achari Aloo Ki Tahiri Recipe

  • Mixed vegetable pickle 2 tablespoons

  • Baby Potatoes 10-15

  • Potatoes cubed 3 medium

  • Rice,soaked 1 1/2 cup

  • Ghee 1 tablespoon

  • Cinnamon 1 inch stick

  • Cloves 5-6

  • Bay leaves 2

  • Black peppercorns 7-8

  • Green cardamoms 5-6

  • Black cardamoms crushed 1

  • Cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon

  • Onion sliced 2 medium

  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Heat ghee in a deep non stick pan, add cinnamon, cloves, bay leaves, black peppercorns, green cardamoms, black cardamom, cumin seeds and saute till fragrant.

Step 2

Halve baby potatoes. Add onionsto the pan and saute till lightly coloured. Add baby potatoes and potato cubes and saute.

Step 3

Add mixed vegetable pickle and mix well. Add rice and mix well.

Step 4

Add 3 cups water and salt and mix well.When the water comes to a boil, reduce heat, cover and cook till both potatoes and rice are cooked.
