  • 1/2 cup Pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup Coconut grated
  • 1/2 cup Sweet potato grated
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Nutmeg powder
  • 1 teaspoon All spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon Almond essence
  • 5 tablespoons Raisins
  • 1 cup Refined flour (maida)
  • 1 cup Cornflour/ corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 tablespoons Melted butter
  • 1 cup Milk
  • Banana leaves cut into square pieces


  1. Mix together coconut, pumpkin, sweet potato, sugar, nutmeg powder, allspice powder, almond essence, raisins, refined flour, cornflour and salt in a bowl. Add melted butter and milk and mix till smooth.
  2. Remove the stems of the banana leaves and roast them lightly on the gas flame.Heat Bisleri water in a steamer. Place a portion of the stuffing in the centre of the banana leaf. Fold the leaf to make a parcel.
  3. Similarly use up all stuffing. Place the parcels on a perforated plate, keep it in the steamer and steam for 30 minutes. Remove from the steamer and open the parcels. Transfer onto a serving plate and serve.
