Ingredients list for Puttu
- 1½ cup Rice Flour
- 1 cup Coconut
- to taste Salt
- for brushi Oil
Method
- Put rice flour in a bowl, add salt and scraped coconut and 2 tbsps water and mix well.
- Heat 1 cup water in the bottom container of puttu steamer.
- Brush the cylindrical mould with oil, fill it with the rice flour mixture. Spread it evenly. Cover its lid. Place in the steamer and steam for 12-15 minutes. Remove the puttu mould, push the puttu through the cylinder with a wooden stick onto a serving plate and serve hot.
