Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Protein Cheela - SK Khazana Recipe

  • multi dal chilla mix 180 grams

  • sweet corn kernels boiled and crushed 2 tablespoons

  • carrot medium, grated 1

  • white sesame seeds roasted 2 teaspoons

  • green chillies chopped 2

  • fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

  • cottage cheese grated 1/2 cup

  • oil 1/2 teaspo

  • salt to taste

  • Dip

  • Chilled Yogurt whisked 1 1/2 cups

  • English cucumber medium 1

  • Salt to taste

  • Roasted cumin powder for sprinkling


Step 1

To make the batter, take multi dal chilla mix in a large bowl. Add sweet corn kernels, carrot, white sesame seeds, green chillies, chopped coriander, cottage cheese, 2½ cups water and whisk till well combined. Adjust salt and mix well.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick tawa, pour a ladle of this batter and gently spread to make a thin cheela. Drizzle a little oil on the sides and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side.

Step 3

For the dip, take yogurt in a bowl, grate cucumber in it and add salt. Mix well.

Step 4

Transfer the cheelas on a serving plate and serve hot with the yogurt dip sprinkled with roasted cumin powder.
