Ingredients list for Kesar Pista Rice
- 2 cups Rice
- a pinch Saffron
- 20 Pistachios, chopped
- 4 tablespoons Ghee
- 4 Green cardamoms
- 4 Cloves
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 20 Raisins
- 1/2 cup Milk
Method
- Soak rice in four cups of water for half an hour. Drain. Heat ghee in a pressure pan.
- Add green cardamoms, cloves and soaked rice and sauté.
- Add three cups of water, sugar, raisins and chopped pistachios and mix.
- Dissolve saffron in warm milk and add to the pan.
- When the rice is cooked a little, cover with the lid and cook on high heat till one whistle is given out.
- Lower the heat and cook for ten minutes. Open the lid and serve hot.
