Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Crackling Bhindi Recipe

  • Lady Finger 500 grams

  • Chaat Masala sliced thinly 2 medium

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Chaat masala 1 teaspoon

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon


Step 1

Wash and wipe ladyfingers using a kitchen towel or a muslin cloth. Trim the head and tail and cut the ladyfingers into one inch sized diamonds.

Step 2

Peel, wash and thinly slice onions. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep-fry ladyfingers till crisp. Drain onto an absorbent paper.

Step 3

In the same oil deep-fry sliced onions till golden brown. Drain onto an absorbent paper.

Step 4

In a large bowl combine fried ladyfingers, onions, chaat masala and lemon juice. Toss to mix well. Serve immediately.
