Ingredients for Christmas Shrimp Curry Recipe

  • Shrimps 4 cups

  • Milk ground 2 medium

  • Ginger chopped 1 inch piece

  • Butter 5 tablespoons

  • Refined flour (maida) 6 tablespoons

  • Curry powder 2 1/2 teaspoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Milk 2 cups

  • Chicken stock 1 cup

  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon


Step 1

Shell, de-vein and wash the shrimps thoroughly under running water. Drain. Heat butter in a pan. Add onion paste and ginger. Sauté for three to four minutes or till the onions turn brown.

Step 2

Stir in refined flour, mix well and add curry powder, salt, sugar and milk. Gradually stir in chicken stock. Cook over low heat, stirring until thickened, or for eight to ten minutes. Add shrimps and lemon juice.

Step 3

Cook till the shrimps are cooked. Take care that the shrimps are not overcooked. Serve with steamed rice.
