Ingredients list for Christmas Shrimp Curry
- 4 cups Shrimps
- 2 medium Milk ground
- 1 inch piece Ginger chopped
- 5 tablespoons Butter
- 6 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
- 2 1/2 teaspoons Curry powder
- to taste Salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Sugar
- 2 cups Milk
- 1 cup Chicken stock
- 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
Method
- Shell, de-vein and wash the shrimps thoroughly under running water. Drain. Heat butter in a pan. Add onion paste and ginger. Sauté for three to four minutes or till the onions turn brown.
- Stir in refined flour, mix well and add curry powder, salt, sugar and milk. Gradually stir in chicken stock. Cook over low heat, stirring until thickened, or for eight to ten minutes. Add shrimps and lemon juice.
- Cook till the shrimps are cooked. Take care that the shrimps are not overcooked. Serve with steamed rice.
