British cuisine has always been a multicultural - a pot pourri of eclectic styles.  However Britain's culinary expertise is not new! In the past British cooking was amongst the best in the world.  Traditional British cuisine is substantial, yet simple and wholesome. 
British cuisine today has a variety that wipes off the image of grey boiled meat.   In London especially, one can not only experiment with the best of British, but the best of the world as there are many distinct ethnic cuisines to sample, Chinese, Indian, Italian and Greek restaurants are amongst the most popular.

Ingredients for Chocolate And Prune Pudding Recipe

  • Chocolate chips 50 grams

  • Prunes 12

  • Milk 500 millilitres

  • Brown sugar 2 tablespoons

  • Eggs 4

  • Cocoa powder 2 tablespoons

  • Cornflour/ corn starch 1 tablespoon


Step 1

Preheat the oven to 170° C / 325° F. Heat milk in a deep non stick pan.

Step 2

Take the pan off the heat and add chocolate chips and stir till they melt.

Step 3

Add brown sugar and stir till it melts. Break eggs into a bowl, add 2 egg yolks and whisk well.

Step 4

Mix cocoa powder and cornstarch in a bowl. Add a little of the hot chocolate milk and mix well so that there are no lumps.

Step 5

Add this to the pan with the remaining chocolate milk and stir well. Add this milk to the eggs, little by little, stirring continuously, till everything is well blended.

Step 6

Place 3 prunes in each of the 4 ramekin moulds. Pour the chocolate milk-egg mixture into the moulds.

Step 7

Keep them in a tray and pour a little water into the tray.

Step 8

Keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes.

Step 9

Take the tray out and let it cool down to room temperature.

Step 10

Chill in a refrigerator and serve.
