Ingredients list for Batter Fried Onion Rings
- 4 medium Onions
- 1 1/4 cups Refined flour (maida)
- 1 teaspoon Cornflour/ corn starch
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1/2 teaspoon White pepper powder
- a pinch Soda bicarbonate
- to taste Salt
- for deep-frying Oil
- 1 teaspoon Chaat masala
Method
- Peel and cut onions into thick rings and separate the layers.
- Whisk together, refined flour, cornflour, buttermilk, pepper powder, soda bicarbonate, salt and little water in a bowl to make a smooth batter.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, dip onion rings in the batter and deep fry till golden brown.
- Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot sprinkled with chaat masala.
