Ingredients for Baked Fish Fillet With Citrus Sauce Recipe

  • Fish Fillets 8

  • Fresh Orange juice 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper powder to taste

  • Lemon rind grated 1 teaspoon

  • Orange rind grated 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh orange juice 2 tablespoons

  • Cream 4 tablespoons

  • Fresh basil leaves a few


Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C. Generously grease a large baking dish with melted butter. Tear a few of the basil leaves with hand.

Step 2

Reserve a few sprigs for garnishing. Lay the fish fillets skin side down in the baking dish, in one layer. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. In a small bowl, combine the lemon and orange rinds and orange juice. Pour the mixture over the fish.

Step 3

Bake in the preheated oven until the fish flakes easily when tested with a fork. It should take about ten to twelve minutes. Transfer the fish to a warm platter.

Step 4

Strain the juices from the baking tray into a small pan. Stir in the cream and hand torn basil. Bring to a slow boil and continue to cook till it thickens.

Step 5

Remove from heat. Pour the citrus cream over the warm fish fillets. Garnish with fresh basil sprigs and serve.
