Ingredients
- 2 cups gram flour
- 4 white bread slices
- ½ teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
- Salt to taste
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
- ½ teaspoon coriander powder
- ½ teaspoon cumin powder
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 medium tomato, chopped
- 1 small green capsicum, finely chopped
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- Oil for toasting
- Butter as required
- Tomato ketchup for serving
Method
- Take gram flour in a bowl. Crush the carom seeds and add to the bowl.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli, powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, coriander leaves, onion, tomato, green capsicum and green chillies and mix well.
- Add 1¼ cups water and mix well.
- Heat oil on a non-stick tawa. Dip the bread slices in the batter and place on tawa. Cook on low heat for 4-5 minute top and cook. Flip again and spread some more butter on top and cook turning sides for 4-5 minutes more on low heat or till the both sides are equally golden brown.
- Cut into triangles and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
