This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 17 Jun 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Tomatoes, Musterd seeds Cuisine Gujarati Course Dals and Kadhis Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet and Sour Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Tamatar Ki Kadhi 4 medium Tomatoes 2 tablespoons Musterd seeds 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds a pinch Asafoetida 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) 15-20 Curry leaves 1 inch piece Ginger 3 Garlic cloves 2-3 Green chillies slit 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder to taste Salt 2 tablespoons Gram flour (besan) 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves chopped Method Roughly chop 2 tomatoes and put in a blender jar. Chop the remaining two finely. Heat 2 tbsps oil in a deep non stick pan, add mustard seeds, asafoetida, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and saute. Add curry leaves, finely chopped tomatoes and mix. Roughly chop ginger, crush garlic and add to the blender jar and hand blend to a puree. Add this puree to the pan. Add green chillies, turmeric powder and salt and mix. Mix gram flour with ¼ cup water and add to the pan and mix well. Cover and cook till thick. Add coriander leaves and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes. Serve hot with steamed rice.
