Protein Cheela

A high protein cheela that makes up for a delicious and nutritious breakfast as it is packed full of flavours and spices that goes beautifully with the chilled and refreshing yogurt dip. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients 

  • 180 grams multi dal chilla mix
  • 2 tbsps boiled sweet corn kernels, crushed
  • 1 medium carrot, grated
  • 2 tsps roasted white sesame seeds
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 2 tbsps chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • ½ cup grated cottage cheese (paneer)
  • ½ tsp oil + for drizzling
  • Salt to taste
    Dip
  • 1½ cups chilled yogurt, whisked 
  • 1 medium English cucumber
  • Salt to taste
  • Roasted cumin powder for sprinkling

Method

  1. To make the batter, take multi dal chilla mix in a large bowl. Add sweet corn kernels, carrot, white sesame seeds, green chillies, chopped coriander, cottage cheese, 2½ cups water and whisk till well combined. Adjust salt and mix well.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick tawa, pour a ladle of this batter and gently spread to make a thin cheela. Drizzle a little oil on the sides and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  3. For the dip, take yogurt in a bowl, grate cucumber in it and add salt. Mix well.
  4. Transfer the cheelas on a serving plate and serve hot with the yogurt dip sprinkled with roasted cumin powder.
