Ingredients list for Pan Fried Rosemary Bread
- ½ teaspoon Fresh rosemary chopped
- 2 cups + for dusting Refined flour (maida)
- 1 teaspoon Fresh yeast
- a pinch Castor sugar (caster sugar)
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- 1 tablespo + for greasing Olive oil
Method
- Take yeast in a bowl. Add a pinch castor sugar and 2 tablespoons warm water, mix and set aside to activate.
- Take flour and salt in a bowl and mix. Make a well in the centre, add activated yeast and mix well. Add some water and knead into a dough.
- Add rosemary and olive oil and knead into soft dough.Cover with damp muslin cloth and set aside to prove for 15-20 minutes.
- Transfer the dough on the worktop and knock back to release excess air.
- Divide the dough into equal portions. Dust the worktop with some flour, roll out each portion into thick sheet and cut into 2 inch pieces.
- Heat a non-stick tawa. Grease with some olive oil, place each piece and roast for 2 minutes on each side or till golden.
- Serve hot.
