Ingredients list for Oven-Fried Chicken And Cornmeal Crust

  • 400 grams Boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 4 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
  • 2 tablespoons Cornflour/ corn starch
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon White pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Crushed red chillies
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic crushed
  • 2 Egg whites

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Mix refined flour, cornstarch, salt, white pepper powder, red chilli powder, crushed red chillies, 1 tsp lemon juice and crushed garlic well.
  2. Add egg whites and whisk till smooth.Make a few slits on the chicken breasts. Sprinkle salt and remaining lemon juice and rub in well. Coat each chicken breast with the prepared flour mixture.
  3. Mix cornmeal and salt and spread on a plate. Roll the chicken pieces in it and press gently so that the cornmeal coats the chicken completely.
  4. Shake off excess cornmeal and arrange them in a baking dish. Spray a little oil and cook in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes. Spray oil in between once. Serve hot.
