There are a number of rituals and celebrations when delicacies are prepared from the freshly harvested paddy. It begins as soon as the rains stop with Nuakhai celebrations when several types of cakes are prepared and are shared with friends and relatives.

Ingredients for Maash Pitika - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Rohu fish 4

  • Onion medium, sliced 1

  • Green chillies chopped 2

  • Salt to taste

  • Mustardoil 2 teaspoons

Method

Step 1

Heat a non-stick grill pan, place the fish darnes in it and grill on medium heat, turning sides, for 10-15 minutes Transfer them onto a plate.

Step 2

Break the darnes into small pieces and put into a bowl after, removing the bones.

Step 3

Add onion, green chillies, salt and mustard oil and mix well. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve with rice and dal.
