Ingredients
- 1/4 kilogram bitter gourd (karela)
- 1/4 coconut
- 2-3 green chillies
- A small lemon sized ball tamarind
- Oil for deep frying
- Salt to taste
Method
- Wash gourd, scrape, de-seed, apply salt and keep aside
- After a few minutes, squeeze out the excess water. Cut into small pieces.
- Heat oil, deep fry the gourd pieces till crisp. Grind together coconut, chillies, salt, tamarind and fried gourd into a semi-liquid chutney.
