Ingredients for Kalakand Fruit Custard Recipe

  • Kalakand 5 pieces

  • Red apple , cored, cut into 1/2 inch pieces and soaked in wa 1

  • Pear , cored and cut into 1/2 inch pieces 1

  • Custard powder 2 1/2 tablespoons

  • Walnuts 15-20

  • Milk 1 1/2 cups

  • Caster sugar 4-5 tablespoons

  • Orange segments to garnish

  • Fresh pomegranate pears to garnish

  • Red grapes , seeded and halved to garnish

Method

Step 1

Roughly chop walnuts. Dry roast the walnuts in a non-stick pan till crisp. Transfer into a bowl.

Step 2

Take milk in another bowl, add custard powder and mix well.

Step 3

Transfer the custard mixture into a deep non-stick pan and cook on medium heat, whisking continuously till the mixture starts thickening and reaches pouring consistency.

Step 4

Add castor sugar. Break kalakand pieces and add and mix well with a whisk till the mixture thickens further. Add half the roasted walnuts and apple and mix well.

Step 5

Pour half the custard into a deep serving plate. Add pears and pour the remaining custard mixture. Garnish with orange segments, pomegranate pearls, remaining roasted walnuts and red grapes. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours or till set.

Step 6

Serve chilled.
