Ingredients list for How to make Dosa Batter

  • 2 3/4 cups Parboiled rice soaked for 4-5 hours
  • 1 cup Split skinless black gram (urad dal) soaked for 4-5 hours
  • 1/4 cup Short-grained raw rice soaked for 4-5 hours
  • 1 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) soaked
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Combine parboiled rice, black gram, raw rice and fenugreek seeds in a grinder jar. Grind well into a smooth and thick batter using water as required, little by little.
  2. Transfer batter into a bowl and set aside to ferment for 8 hours.
  3. Add salt, mix well and use as required.
