Ingredients list for Gauntlet Chocolate Bread

  • 1 cup + for dusting Refined flour (maida)
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Activated yeast
  • as required Edible silver dust
  • as required Edible copper dust
  • as required Sugar candies


  1. Take refined flour in a large bowl, add cocoa powder and powdered sugar and mix well. Add activated yeast and sufficient water and knead in to semi-soft dough.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180˚C.
  3. Dust the worktop with flour, divide the dough into required number of portions to suit the shape you want the bread to be. Roll, make cylinders, roundels etc. and shape the bread. Place it on a baking tray.
  4. Keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Take it out of the oven and garnish with edible silver dust, edible copper dust, decorate with sugar candies and serve.
