Ingredients list for Dal Khichdi
- 1/2 cup Split green gram with skin (chilkewali moong dal) soaked
- 1/2 cup kolam rice soaked
Method
- Heat ghee in a pressure cooker.
- Add cloves, cinnamon, asafoetida, ginger, chilkewali moong dal, dhuli moong dal, and rice and mix well.
- Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Add French beans, cubed carrot, green peas, salt, turmeric powder, grated carrot and 5 cups water and mix.
- Break green chilli and add. Close the pressure cooker with the lid and cook under pressure till 2-3 whistles are given.
- Open the cooker when the pressure reduces completely and serve piping hot.
