Ingredients

  • ¾ cup yogurt
  • 250 gms parwal, scraped and halved vertically
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 6-8 cloves
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • ¾ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon ginger-garlic paste

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non stick pan, add bay leaves, cloves, parwal, salt and mix well.  Cover and cook for 7-8 minutes or till almost done.
  2. Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder and mix well.  Add ¼ cup water to prevent masalas from scorching. 
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and mix.  Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add yogurt and mix.  Cover and cook till the parwals get completely cooked.
  5. Serve hot.
