Ingredients list for Chicken Stew

  • 800 grams Chicken cut into 1½ inch cubes on the bone
  • 7-8 cloves Garlic sliced
  • 2 medium Onions sliced
  • 2 medium Carrots cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 medium Potatoes cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons Whole wheat flour (atta)
  • to taste Salt
  • 5 cups Chicken stock
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • 6-8 French beans cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup Skimmed milk

Method

  1. Heat a non-stick pan and add garlic, onions, carrots and potatoes and roast for four to five minutes on high heat.
  2. Add whole-wheat flour to the vegetables and roast for a minute. Add chicken pieces, salt and cook for three to four minutes. Add stock and bring it to a boil.
  3. Add half of the pepper powder. Cover and cook for three to four minutes. Uncover, add French beans, mix and cook for a minute.
  4. Add milk and remaining pepper powder. Cover and cook on medium heat for seven to eight minutes.
  5. Serve hot.
