Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Prep Time : 1-1.30 hour

Cook time : 21-25 minutes

Ingredients for Chicken Cafreal - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Chicken on the bone cut into 2 inch pieces 750 grams

  • Handful of coriander leaves

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Cloves 5-6

  • Coriander seeds 1 tablespoon

  • Green cardamoms 3

  • Black peppercorns 8-10

  • Cinnamon stick 1 inch

  • Ginger roughly chopped 1 inch

  • Garlic cloves roughly chopped 4-5

  • Green chillies roughly chopped 3-4

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil 3 tablespoons

  • Vinegar 3 tablespoons

  • Fried onions for garnish


Step 1

Heat a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, cloves, coriander seeds, green cardamom, black peppercorns and cinnamon, mix and dry roast till fragrant. Transfer into a mixer jar.

Step 2

Add garlic, ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves and some water and grind to a smooth paste.

Step 3

Take the chicken in a large bowl, add ground paste and salt and mix well. Keep aside to marinate for 1 hour.

Step 4

Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan. Add the marinated chicken and mix well. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes or till the chicken is well cooked.

Step 5

Switch off the heat, add vinegar and mix well.

Step 6

Transfer into a serving plate, garnish with fried onions and serve hot.
