Ingredients                                                                  

  • ½ cup sweet corn kernels                                                        
  • 150 grams sweet corn (cream style)                                         
  • 1 boneless chicken breast, boiled and shredded
  • 3 tablespoons cornflour                                                            
  • 2 tablespoons oil                                                                                              
  • 1 tablespoon cabbage, chopped                                                           
  • ¼ medium carrot, diced                                                                       
  • 4-5 cups chicken stock                                                            
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon white pepper powder                                                        
  • ½ tablespoon sugar                                                                              
  • ¼ teaspoon MSG                                                                                
  • 1 stalk spring onion greens, chopped                            

Method

  1. Blend cornflour in a half a cup of water and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a wok or a pan and add cabbage, carrot and corn kernels.  Stir fry for a couple of minutes.  Add chicken and stir fry for a couple of minutes more.
  3. Stir in chicken stock and bring it to a boil.
  4. Mix in the cream style sweet corn and continue cooking for two to three minutes or until the cream style corn is mixed well.Add salt, white pepper powder, sugar and MSG.
  5. Stir in blended cornflour, cook on high heat for a minute or until the soup has thickened, stirring continuously.
  6. Serve piping hot, garnished with spring onion greens.
