You don’t have to wait for a navroze or wedding invite from a Parsi friend to get your hands on some delicious Parsi food. Here are 3 simple Parsi style recipes that get made in less than 30 minutes and will satisfy all your cravings.

500 grams of soya granules
250 grams of breadcrumbs
1 small packet of tamarind pulp
100 grams of bhuna masala
1 small packet of brown sugar
100 grams of red pumpkin
3 medium brinjals
1 small bunch of fenugreek leaves
100 grams of split red lentil
100 grams of split pigeon pea
100 grams of ghee
1 small packet of dhansaak masala
1 small packet of bread slices
6 eggs
1 small packet of cardamom powder
1 small packet of nutmeg powder
1 small bottle of vanilla essence
50 grams of chironji
1 small bottle of rose syrup
1 tin of condensed milk
For faster preparation
For patio make a smooth paste of green chilli. Soak the soya granules. Make the patio mixture by grinding soya granules, breadcrumbs and spices in a processor. Shape the mixture in equal portions and insert an ice cream stick. Cut the vegetables for dhansaak, chop chillies, garlic and ginger. Wash and soak the lentils. Discard the edges of bread slices. Make the custard mixture ready.
How to go about it
Start with the custard by add the custard mixture to a baking dish then layering it with bread slices and pouring the remaining custard mixture on the bread slices. Bake in the oven until the custard is set. Then cook the vegetable dhansaak. Finally sear the chops and set aside. In the same pan make the bhuna masala to be served with the chops.
