You should always stack your fridge with at least a dozen of them. Why? Handiest food to have around! Kids are hungry? Make some egg sandwiches. Guests come in, make an egg curry or egg biryani. You are hungry? Poach an egg and have it topped with stir fried veggies – perfect protein source for the body! Check the freshness – keep a raw egg in a bowl of water. Fresh eggs will stay at the bottom while stale eggs stand on end or float.

Ingredients for Stuffed Omelette Roll Recipe

  • Eggs 8

  • Salt to taste

  • Milk 2 tablespoons

  • Oil 4 tablespoons

  • Onions , sliced 2 small

  • Button mushrooms , sliced 5 medium

  • Carrot , grated 1 small

  • Cabbage , shredded 1/4 small

  • Bean sprouts 1/4 cup

  • Cheese grated 1/2 cup

  • Tomato ketchup as required


Step 1

Break eggs into a bowl. Add salt and milk and whisk them together.

Step 2

Heat one teaspoon of oil in a non-stick kadai. Add a quarter of the whisked egg and lift the kadai and move it in a circular motion so that the egg spreads. Drizzle a teaspoon of oil around the sides and remove the omelette onto a plate. Similarly use up the remaining whisked eggs.

Step 3

Heat the remaining oil in a pan, add onions, mushrooms, carrots and salt. Toss. Add shredded cabbage and bean sprouts and toss.

Step 4

Place an omelette on a plate. Spread a little grated cheese and top it with a portion of the cooked vegetables. Roll.

Step 5

Press while rolling to make a tight roll. Cut into thick slices on the slant and serve with tomato ketchup.

Step 6

Make other rolls in the same way.
