Ingredients list for Restaurant Style Lahori Dal
- 1 1/2 cups Whole red lentils (sabut masoor) , soaked for 2-3 hours
 
Method
- Heat a pressure cooker, add red lentils, salt, turmeric powder and sufficient water to cover the lentils, cover the cooker and cook under pressure till the pressure is released 5-6 times.
 - Remove lid once the pressure settles completely, add crushed garlic, 1 green chilli and milk-cream mixture, mix well and cook for a minute. Add ½ cup water, mix and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
 - Heat ghee in a non-stick pan,add chopped garlic, mix and sauté till the slightly browned.
 - Add cumin seeds and once they begin to change colour, add remaining green chillies, mix and sauté for a minute.
 - Add onion, mix well and sauté till lightly browned. Add salt, red chilli powder and garam masala powder and mix well.
 - Add the cooked lentil mixture, mix well and simmer for 5 minutes.Add lemon juice and mix well.
 - Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with ginger strips, drizzle melted ghee and serve hot.
