Ingredients list for Pizza Croissant

  • 250 grams Pizza dough
  • for spreading Pizza sauce
  • for dusting Refined flour
  • for brushing Olive oil
  • as required Fresh basil leaves
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese , grated

Method

  1. Place the proven dough on the worktop and knock back to release excess air. Dust with some flour and knead well.
  2. Divide the dough into 2 equal portions and roll out each portion into ½ cm thick sheets. Trim the edges to shape into a square sheet.
  3. Cut each sheet into 2 equal pieces and further them into equal triangles.
  4. Brush some olive oil and spread a little pizza sauce on each triangle. Place 1 basil leaf in the centre of each triangle and spread some mozzarella cheese on the leaf. Start rolling from the broader end of the triangle to the pointed end and then bend them slightly to shape into croissant.
  5. Keep these croissants on a greased baking tray, cover with a damp cloth and let them prove for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 180° C.
  7. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven and cool slightly.
  8. Arrange them on a serving platter and serve warm with tomato ketchup.
